District Wide Focus on Attendance

This school year, a focus for the entire Tuscarora School District is Attendance. Did you know that if your child misses 2 or more days every month, this equates to 18+ days in a school year of 180 days? When a student misses over 10% of a school year, this is defined as "chronic absenteeism."

In the Elementary Schools, across the district, we will celebrate different attendance goals each month. What this will look like: One class K-2 and one class 3-5 who have met or exceeded the attendance target for that month, will earn an extra recess to play with the "attendance wagon."

Attendance Wagon Monthly Goals

November: Class with the best overall attendance

December: Class with the fewest unexcused tardies

January: Class with the most improved attendance

February: Class with the best overall attendance

March: Class with the fewest unexcused tardies

April: Class with the most improved attendance

May: Class with the best overall attendance

**Extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.

Report Cards

In an effort to communicate, not only will Report Cards be posted on Skyward, but they will also be printed and sent home paper version.

Report cards will be sent home on 11/26.

Students should arrive and sit with their class in the back of the auditorium at 6:30
Doors will open at 6:15
Concert starts at 6:45

November PBIS Reward

Reward: Door Decorating and Thankful Mix

Date: November 27th

Any student who received 1 or 0 MAJOR referrals. Students who have received 2 or more will be retaught expected behaviors during this time.

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students.

School Drop Off and Pick Up Times

Morning

7:20am - Doors open at Mountain View for students, breakfast available.

7:40am - Doors close. After 7:40am, a student is considered late. Please walk your child into the school and sign them in at our office.

Afternoon

2:10 pm - Bus dismissal

2:15 pm - Students who are parent pick-up are dismissed. Please be in the parent pick up line at this time. Parents, we ask that you pull all the way forward in the parent pick up line. For safety purposes, we do not dismiss students to cars until all of vehicles are stopped.

2:20pm - All students should be picked up by this time.

Transportation Changes

Please remember- if your student will be traveling home a different way than what is listed on the Skyward portal, it is essential for a note to be sent into school or emailed to our Mountain View Secretary at: sjunkins@tusge.org

**We can not accept transportation changes after 1:30pm.
